Pilates
The Pilates method of exercise integrates core stability, breathing and proper posture with the concepts of flexibility and strengthening.

Pilates focuses on the mind-body connection and the body’s "powerhouse" – the deep abdominal and back muscles, and the muscles of the pelvic and shoulder girdles that work together to form the core strength of the body. The core muscles can be divided into two separate units, the inner and outer units. These work independently of one another and have different purposes. The inner unit is responsible for the stabilization of the lumbar spine (essential for maintaining balance and posture), and the outer unit provides the musculature responsible for movement.

With its attention to building core strength, fine-tuning body alignment, and re-training the body for correct movement patterns, Pilates can be the primary element of many physical therapy programs.


Pilates has been used to effectively treat patients regardless of age, ability, fitness level, injury or limitation.

Pilates is most effective in treating postural dysfunctions that involve muscle imbalance. The techniques have also been successful in rehabilitating patients with TMJ, scoliosis, balance disorders, fibromyalgia, scapular and humeral misalignment problems, abdominal surgeries, incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction, lumbosacral sprain and strain, herniated cervical and lumbar disc, spondylolithesis, patellar tracking problems and thoracic outlet syndrome, among others.  Pilates exercises can be very basic or progress to challenge even the most advanced, physically-fit patients.

 

Bums and Tums

These are the two most requested areas that clients want to change.  This class focuses on these areas through a variety of lower body routines, integrated with abdominal exercises.  It is important to realize that to 'sculpt' a flat tummy, diet and nutrition are equally as important as the chosen exercises.  The midsection of the body readily stores body fat.  This makes it especially difficult to see the results of your abdominal work.  With proper guidance you uncover your hidden six-pack!

 

AM Boot Camp

Expect the Unexpected!  This class combines strength training including military style exercises such as push-ups, dips, lunges and crunches and cardiovascular training.  This is a tough, calorie buning class.

 

 

Mind, Body & Soul

An invigorating, therapeutic class which fuses aerobic components with micro strength training and vinyasa-style yoga exercises.  This class pledges to create a harmony of strength and flexibility, stabilize the entire body, tonify body systems, and ultimately rejuvinate the Mind, Body & Soul!  Expect an overall enhanced state of wellness.

 

 

 

Cardio Kickbox

Kick, jab, hook, uppercut!  Learn these moves in an aerobic-style exercise class.  A fabulous class to tone the legs and strengthen the core all while burning fat and feeling empowered!
